Apparently, looks matter in the air too...

Whoever said looks did not matter was definitely wrong... at least for flying on any of easyJet's flights for the whole of next year... Indeed, two days before the Royal Wedding, an English-Italian couple has been awarded with the title of 'the most convincing Prince William and Kate Middleton look-a-likes'. Competing against hundreds of potential 'copies' of the real Royal couple across Europe, 29 years-old Simon Watkinson from London and 29 years-old Orsola Rossi from Milan have been announced as the lucky winners.

lookalikes.jpgThe 20 look-a-like candidates - 10 of each gender - at the top of the pool of hopeful entrants were all brought to London with easyJet from France, Italy, Portugal, Germany, Belgium, Spain, Poland, the UK, among other European countries to participate in a one of a kind competition on Wednesday the 27th of April at the Potters Fields Park, overlooking Tower Bridge. Although the competition focused on selecting the closest 'Will and Kate doubles', each candidate had to go through a series of good royal behaviour tests in front of a panel of judges as well. This included simulating a romantic proposal, throwing the bridal bouquet elegantly and waving like Royals.

While the top 20 chosen contenders all won free trips to watch the wedding live, Simon and Orsola won an entire year of free easyJet flights each as well as a crown to take back home. Paul Moore, easyJet's Communications Director said: 'it has been great fun to fly look-a-likes from all over Europe to London to enjoy the wedding celebrations and crown our very own easyJet Royal couple.' Simon and Orsola also expressed their excitement, not only for having been voted as the doubles of one of the world's most famous couples but also for earning the opportunity to travel limitlessly one year long on one of UK's leading airlines: easyJet.

We've seen lots of offers, deals and prizes recently granted in light of this big occasion, but nothing as generous as this easyJet's award really. Let's just hope more royals will get married soon so that other look-a-likes might also fly free of charge…

This is quite a fun idea. Maybe it could be extended to other people as well.
We could have David Cameron look alikes and, I am sure, there would be no shortage of entires for David and Posh Beckham doubles.
Let's forget about the problems, small toilets, disabled travel, punctuality and delays and just concentrate on the look alikes instead.

Don't you just find this stupid. The whole being interested in celebrities thing is daft and being interested in people who happen to look like celebrities is even dafter.
They will probably come out with their own perfume range that smells like a perfume that a celebrity uses.
Get a life !!
