From strike to ash - has BA met its match?
|

British Airways will lose at least £10m a day during the volcanic ash crisis and this is money that they can ill-afford to lose. Following on the heels of the strike, this may be just one disaster too many for the vulnerable airline.
This is bad for BA but it is also bad for the whole airline industry. European airlines face losses of over £1.5bn this year and do not expect things to suddenly get any better. With the decline in business travel and the general economic malaise we may see a few more airlines collapsing before the year is out.
