It has all happened to us after the rush to get to the airport and the last minute passport hunt then the check in, and you hope to settle in for that long -haul flight, and then all tranquility is destroyed when a tired and disgruntled baby decides now is a good time to start yelling!
However, help is at hand for some of us that is. Wealthy passengers on some Malaysia Airlines flights will have the chance to fly in serene calm after bosses banned babies from first-class cabins.
The airline, which operates out of Kuala Lumpur, has already imposed its controversial 'baby ban' on the first-class cabins of its Boeing 747 jumbo jets.
And now it has announced it will not be installing bassinets in the luxury areas of its new Airbus A380 super jumbos, which will gradually supersede the Boeings on some of its busiest routes.
Malaysia Airlines CEO and managing director Tengku Azmil said he imposed the ban after the company received complaints from well-to-do passengers whose sleep had been disturbed by screaming tots.
Travellers with babies will instead have to book seats in economy or business class cabins, which are equipped with bassinets.
Remarks published on Twitter, Malaysia Airlines CEO and Managing Director Tengku Azmil said the ban was imposed due to 'many complaints from 1st class pax dat dey spend money on 1st class & can't sleep due to crying infants [sic]'.
The ban, which will affect flights from Kuala Kumpur to London, Amsterdam and Sydney, is thought to be the first such imposed by an airline.
In February, airlines including British Airways and Virgin Atlantic also said they were considering creating children-free flights, but now announcement has since been made.
This will no doubt cause some controversy and different views.
