New easyJet initiative for business travelers

I am very pleased to read that easyJet has announced a new flexible fare structure for business travellers. These new tickets will give passengers unlimited flexibility to change their flight up to two hours before the scheduled departure time.Easyjet.jpg

Passengers will be able to make unlimited changes within a four week time window - one week before and up to three weeks after the original booked travel date. The ticket price will include a checked-in hold bag, speedy boarding, and no booking fees.

easyJet say that these flexible fares will be competitively priced, staying true to easyJet's commitment to low fares.

Carolyn McCall, easyJet CEO said: "We have seen a growing trend of business travellers choosing to fly to easyJet’s European network of main airports. The easyJet flexible fare has been specifically designed to meet the needs of the business traveller."

I understand that the new flexible fares will be introduced in the second quarter of 2011 and will initially be available through business booking and travel companies. Later, they will be available to all passengers through easyJet.com.

At last, a great move by Easyjet. It will be very useful for business travellers as quite often meetings are postponed at very late notice and it is beyond the travellers control. As Andrew say's lets hope other airlines will follow.

Easyjet will certainly benefot frrom introducing this new flexible fare. I have to make travel arrangements for a number of colleagues and get so frustrated when I am told time and time again that I can't make ammendments at the last minute. Thank you Easyjet for making my job easier!

A very clever decision made by Easyjet. Not only now are we able to get cheap flighs but also make changes at late notice. I am surprised that it has taken an airline so long to introduce a fare like this.

Sounds like a grand idea, but lets see how easy it is too actually make amendments to tickets. I am sure that in the small print there will be some clause which will say it will cost you more than the original fare to change anything!
