Following the comments by our Editor, Mr Crispin Kent, Flying into a war zone I can advise that the Foreign Office has now warned against all non-essential travel to Cairo, Alexandria, Suez and Luxor.
The official line is now that British nationals without a "pressing need" to be in the cities have been told to leave the area.
Extra consular staff are on hand at Cairo airport to assist to British nationals attempting to flee the chaos.
I guess now would not be a good time to take the family to see the sights.
