Luggage delivery services

What not to wear!

Once upon a time, we were able to pack a full suitcase when going on holiday.

There was something exciting about planning an outfit for every night with different shoes to match. However, like most things, this Golden Age has passed.Shoe.jpg

Today, it is all about charges for excess baggage and the airlines' endless pursuit of making our wallets lighter and our lives darker. With total checked luggage limited to a miserly 20kg, please tell me how I am supposed to pack an entire wardrobe for two weeks. And, despite what my partner says, shoes are important!

We have all tried loading our hand luggage to capacity but with security issues and those niggling charges, Ryanair please note, it will not be long before this option is lost forever.

As one tiny glimmer of hope, I may have found an alternative. It is a bit expensive but so simple. This company collects your luggage from your home, office or anywhere for that matter and delivers it to direct to your destination. By using the air courier, your luggage travels at the same speed as you. It works and is efficient and, perhaps best of all, it stops all of those arguments about packing and weight.

Maybe finally, I have found a solution to putting in those extra pair(s) of shoes!

There are always arguments in our house before we go on holiday with me refusing to pay for excess baggage! Usually its my wife who sneaks in the extra pair of shoes or clothes into my bag when I am not looking, I get to the airport and wonder why I am 'over' and she is not!

This is a growing option in America. My sister uses it when they travel back and forth from Chicago to Florida.
I do not know if it will catch on here (or in Europe) but it does sound like a very good idea.
And, I do agree with Kayte that baggage limit kills the fun of planning evening outfits !

How many times have I had this problem, stuffing things into my suitcase and then realising how 'overweight' I am and then incurring the costs at the airport, it spoils the enjoyment almost of going on holiday and taking all the lovely outfits you have planned for it, I like this idea of collecting your luggage and using air courier, it could be a whole lot less stressful that's for sure!

I too love this idea, I start to panic round about two weeks before my annual holiday how I am going to fit everything in, the airlines allow us to bring on hand luggage and fill that up, why not give us some 'free' extra kilo's instead?

This does sound a good idea, but as Jenny points out, I am not sure it will catch on over here, but I wish it would. The meagre allowance means you just cannot take all the lovely clothes you have acquired for your holiday and it really restricts you, the airlines must make a fortune out of this and our desire to take more with us.

My girlfriend has the perfect solution, she just puts all her shoes and clothes in my suitcase and I get to pay the charges for excess baggage!

I agree with Jenny, one of the best things about going on holiday is the thought of all the different outfits you can take. Why not give us some extra kilos instead of hand lugagge as Nona said?

I think that the 20kg baggage rule is silly. As Lucy said one of the best things about going on holiday is the outfits and the different resturants and bars you can wear them at!

After years of being ripped off paying excess baggage I now only take the bare essentials when travelling. I prefer to use my holiday as a chance of updating my wardrobe and rather than lining the pockets of the airlines I spend the money on myself!

After paying the airlines for taking a resonable amount of clothes on holiday I now only take a certain number of outfits or the bare essentials as my partner likes to call them!
