Easyjet extends time for Andy Harrison
|
Jasper Kelly Thursday 24 June 2010 |
Sir Stellios has frequently called the outgoing Easyjet CEO Andy Harrison ‘overrated’.
This name calling came as something of a surprise as Mr Harrison was given a £1.2m retention bonus last year for his agreeing to stay on until the end of March of this year. This was after the announcement of his resignation and move to head up hospitality group Whitbred.
Shareholders of Easyjet have now learnt that Andy Harrison was subsequently asked to remain in his post until the end of this month (June) to provide cover until Carolyn McCall completed her transfer in from the Guardian Media group.
It seems that the going-rate for an outgoing ‘overrated’ CEO is £750,000 for three months.
The good news is, having kept Harrison sweet, Easyjet can call upon his services to ensure a smooth handover for the small sum of £250,000.
Could it perhaps be that it is Sir Stellios' opinions that are overrated?

I used to be impressed by Stellios. His ideas were really good. I know the hotels were awful but the easy carhire was very good. Easyjet was a great idea and all credit to him for helping to create a revolution in pricing. | |
