Ryanair has announced that it intends to sell tickets for flights to the islands of Kos, Crete and Corfu starting next spring, the flights will depart from Leeds Bradford airport.

However, Greece is still struggling after its recent financial downturn, with many flights delayed and even sometimes cancelled. Michael O'Leary, Ryanair's Chief Executive takes a different view, and believes that whilst Greece is in the state it is in, the tourism industry will become a big one for the country.

"There's going to be a tourist boom. For Greece, the tourist business will become more important than ever." Ryanair also announced plans to base a third new aircraft at the Leeds Bradford airbase, and as of next summer there will be three new routes as well as the newly announced Greek ones.

Michael O'Leary is known for his over the top publicity stunts, and when asked whether passengers could pay for flights in Drachmas, after it was revealed that Greece's euro zone days were numbered, O'Leary replied with "We're not proud. We take any currency, including mountain goats."

However, Ryanair could not have chosen a worse time to announce the plans, on the same day it was revealed that many Greek MPs want their Prime Minister to step down, throwing the country into further chaos.
