The Complete Solution

How to reduce queues at security

I had a bit of a dilemma about this email received from a contributor in Germany.  The good cop inside me says 'do not touch it with a barge pole', whilst the bad cop was simply amused.

The bad cop won and so I publish below. I will leave the comments to you.airport-security-1.jpg

Here's a solution to all the controversy over full-body scanners at the airports.

All we need to do is develop a booth that you can step into that will not X-ray you, but will detonate any explosive device you may have hidden on or in your body.  The explosion will be contained within the sealed booth.

This would be a win-win for everyone.  There would be none of this crap about racial profiling and the device would eliminate long and expensive trials.

This is so simple that it's brilliant. I can see it now:  you're in the airport terminal and you hear a muffled explosion.  Shortly thereafter an announcement comes over the PA system, "Attention, standby passengers! We now have a seat available on flight number..."

I cannot agree with your publishing things like this.
This is inflammatory and generates a wall of isolation between those fighting for legitimate causes and those wasting the earth's sparse resources flying around the world.
All people have rights, this should be remembered. We have seen the dangers in England but only some States have recognised them properly.

Great story and probably a great idea.
Why would you be embarrassed? The Brits used to be well known for their humour and tolerance

Too right. Back home we would burn the buggers.

I feel that this is harsh but fair. Why should thousands of people loose their lives when the person who is trying to kill us could get caught? I believe if you kill somebody then you should give your life in return.

I read that Saudi schools in London are teaching a form of Islam that calls for amputations, flogging and death. This is, quite properly, regarded as extremism.
There is however a story of a young American living with his parents in the Saudi region who decided it would be fun to 'key' some cars. He received six lashes in public.
He has not keyed any more cars, not have any of his friends. Very sadly, we may have to accept that tough measures are needed to counter tough problems.

I believe that this idea will benefit us in some ways, it would save thousands of lives and will cut down on the amount of terrorist attacks that are committed on aircrafts.
